St. Lawrence Cruise Lines Safely Completes 2020 Fall Cruise Schedule

Enhanced Safety Measures a Resounding Success for Small Ship Cruising CANADA - October 19th, 2020 - St. Lawrence Cruise Lines announces the completion of their 2020 fall cruise schedule and looks forward positively to the successful continuation of small ship river cruising in Canada. The schedule included a series of 4-night / 5-day cruises of the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario and the Thousand Islands region.

The cruises produced a clean bill of health for the cruise line’s enhanced COVID-19 safety measures that included guest screening, reduced passenger loads, physical distancing and mask protocols, as well as a ship-wide hospital-grade disinfectant regime.

Company President Jason Clark, suggested that the decision to offer the condensed fall schedule was driven by consumer demand and followed months of research and preparation on behalf of the cruise line to meet evolving federal, provincial and municipal pandemic guidelines.

“During the planning of our fall schedule, the wellbeing of our passengers and crew was our number one consideration, and we spared no expense in addressing health and safety for everyone on board. We believe that the success of our fall cruises proves that we can deliver a wonderful vacation on the St. Lawrence River with the highest levels of hospitality, while maintaining equally high standards of COVID-19 measures for everyone on board.” Jason Clark, President of St. Lawrence Cruise Lines.

The companies M/V Canadian Empress was operated with a maximum capacity of 40 passengers and 13 crew members. The ship offers 32 twin bedrooms with fixed beds, private bathrooms and river views. Clark cited some of the key points to the successful season as the result of an experienced crew and strong relationships with cruise partners along the St. Lawrence River.

“With 40 years of cruising experience, we have been able to develop the kind of relationships that are needed to ensure that our cruises are safe and healthy for everyone. Our crew was committed to our safety initiatives, and all of our partners - suppliers, bus companies, performers, and attractions - worked with us to ensure that we could go above and beyond in the name of safe and healthy cruising.”

The company are already taking bookings for the 2021 season and information on the cruise schedule, itineraries, and safety measures are published on their website.
