Around-the-World Travel Adventure Ready to Go in 2022: But Last Call.

February 10th, 2022 - PORTLAND, USA – The world is warming to travelers as countries open their borders again welcoming travelers after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

It is last call to join the 16th edition of The Global Scavenger Hunt which is scheduled to take place over 23-days between April 22 and May 14, 2022, with application deadline closing.

Willing Indiana Jones adventurers and curious travelers alike, who fancy testing their travel IQ alongside other global travelers in an amazing around-the-world travel adventure competition can apply now at GlobalScavengerHunt.com …but the application deadline closes February 25th.

“We’re back and ready for adventure,” says Event Director William Chalmers, “The world is opening its doors to travel and of course 2022 will be challenging for all—our adventurers, we event planners, and the destinations we call on. The pandemic has changed all our perspectives and we are really looking forward to getting back out into the world so we can better appreciate the rewarding, refreshing, rejuvenating and transformative experiences that travel offers. It’s time for our competitors to reclaim their travel swagger. We are thrilled to be back.”

The 2022 event will allow savvy international travelers to compete by taking A Blind Date with the World—visiting ten secret destinations without any prior preparation—and then having them unravel a constant blitz of authentic, highly participatory and challenging culturally-oriented scavenges along the way. Earning points for things like: meditating with monks, training elephants, taking flamenco lessons, cooking specialty dishes with resident chefs, searching out Lost Cities, cracking sacred temple mysteries, joining in local celebrations, and learning languages enough to decipher scores of scavenger hunt clues. Trusting strangers in strange lands will be their focus as they circle the globe for three weeks. The annual event, that began in 2002, has visited 85 countries to date.

The title of The World’s Greatest Travelers and winning a free trip around the world to defend their titles in 2023 is on the line, awaiting the travelers worthy enough to win the 16th edition of the world travel championship. The event begins April 22nd and ends on May 14th, 2022.

Event participation is open but limited. The $25,000 per team entry fee includes all international airfare, First Class hotel accommodations, 40% of meals, and special event travel gear. All travelers are interviewed for suitability, and single travelers are welcome to apply.
