Anniversary Cruise Pays Tribute to the Early Days of the Company

CANADA - October 1st, 2021 - Kingston, ON: St. Lawrence Cruise Lines is celebrating their 40 year history of river cruising with a special Anniversary Cruise from September 27th to October 1st,, 2021. The cruise will transport 40 passengers, many of whom have previously travelled with the cruise line, on a journey through the Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence Seaway with an itinerary that celebrates the rich history of the company and the launch of the small ship CANADIAN EMPRESS in 1981.

“We believe that it is important to pay tribute to the origins of the company, including the construction of the CANADIAN EMPRESS in Gananoque, as well as our first voyages through the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River. This Anniversary Cruise gives us a chance to do that.” said St. Lawrence Cruise Lines President, Jason Clark.

The Anniversary Cruise is a 4 night, 5 day return cruise between the line’s home port of Kingston, Ontario and Morrisburg, Ontario. The voyage will feature unique stops that will include afternoon tea at Cosies Tea Room in Brockville, a celebratory dinner at the Harvest Barn at Upper Canada Village, and a Dedication Ceremony for the CANADIAN EMPRESS on October 1st at 9:30 AM at the 1000 Islands Boat Museum in Gananoque (www.tiboatmuseum.org). The museum is only a short stroll from the location where the ship was originally built and launched in 1981.

“We are excited to share this Anniversary cruise with our passengers and crew. We will also be welcoming a number of past crew members many of the original journeymen involved with building the Canadian Empress to the Dedication Ceremony on October 1st.” said Jason Clark.

St. Lawrence Cruise Lines operates calm water overnight cruises on the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers, with departures from Kingston, Ottawa, and Quebec City. The vessel travels exclusively in Canadian waters and makes overnight stops at select ports in Ontario and Quebec.
